Helping our Furry Friends (March)

As part of the Texas Southwest Council’s year‑long 100th anniversary celebration, each month highlights a unique community service theme for Scouts, families, and volunteers.

March 2026 is dedicated to “Animal Service”—a chance for units to support local shelters, rescues, and organizations that care for animals across both the Amistad and Concho Valley Districts.

March Service Focus: Animal Welfare & Community Engagement

Throughout March, units are encouraged to partner with local animal-focused nonprofits to provide meaningful service that supports their missions. Activities may include:

  • Facility cleaning and improvements
  • Pet socialization and enrichment
  • Food, supply, or bedding drives
  • Grounds maintenance or beautification
  • Special weekend volunteer events
  • Fundraising or awareness campaigns
  • Helping with adoption events

This month’s initiative welcomes Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, families, alumni groups, and community supporters.

Would your organization benefit from youth and adult volunteers, preferably on a Saturday or Sunday? If so, please advise me on suitable tasks and preferred dates. We will coordinate accordingly.
